My name is Richard Milan Komžík. I was born in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic (that time it was Czechoslovakia) on November 21, 1965. For a long time I lived in Zilina, where I attended the basic school as well as Gymnasium, Velka Okruzna (high school, grammar school). I studied at the Comenius University in Bratislava at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. After graduating from University I began to work at the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Tatranska Lomnica. I am a member of its Stellar Department and I work mainly in the field of interacting binaries. In 1998 I finished my dissertation Photometric and spectroscopic study of eclipsing system TX UMa. As to my hobbies, I am interested in film, good books and music, traveling, hiking the beautiful Slovak mountains.
